Chinese New Year in London

In 2010 the Chinese welcomed the Year of the Tiger and the celebrations that took place in London Chinatown were incredible.

Here are some images I was able to captured with my camera during the festival.

Afternoon Tea at Harrods!

I began my day by visiting the National Art Gallery of London, which was quite impressive. Then a couple of my friends and I decided to go for some tea at Harrods, one of the most luxurious shopping centers in the city. This was probably the most expensive and yet the most self-indulgent experiences of my life.

Canterbury, Portobello Market and Brick Lane Market

My two friends and I took a two hour bus ride from London to Canterbury, a historic town filled with tales from the past, a majestic cathedral and tons of narrow alleyways and shopping stores. We spent the whole day walking through the city which seemed to offered more than expected, yet the weather was not on our side and due to the cold breeze we had to leave the town prematurely :( But not without having some delicious fish and chips and visiting some fun local museums first!

The next day we decided to celebrate Valentine's day by going to a sushi bar and visiting some of the most popular markets in London - Portobello and Brick Lane markets.

Cambridge

sunny

Today I visited Cambridge. The university campus is basically within the city and some of the buildings that serve academic purposes are truly magical. Most of the libraries have medieval features which make them look like castles. There were also a lot of churches.

My friends and I walked around the whole city and coincidentally encountered a market right in the middle. I was very excited to find a vintage vinyl record stand at one of the corners and due to my distinctive collector's interest in records, I ended up purchasing five which included The Beatles - White Album, Beatles for Sale and Pink Floyd - Dark Side of the Moon. I was very pleased. Overall, it was a great day!

Seven Dials

I've been searching for hidden corners with cute shops in the city and I found this one place called seven dials. It was very nice just walking around, my friends and I had some tea at a Moroccan restaurant and the atmosphere was incredible, it made me want to go to Morocco really bad. I really like the diversity that resides in this city.
